Norman L. Prasatik passed into eternal rest on August 31, 2023 at the age of 90. Norm was born in Rosenberg on January 21, 1933, and was the youngest of three boys born to William J. and Lenora Wotipka Prasatik. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Clarence W. and Maurice J. Prasatik. Norm married dearly loved Betty Jean Parker in Sugar Land on August 21, 1953. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Betty Jean Prasatik; son, Troy L. Prasatik; four grandchildren, Jeremy Jay Prasatik and wife, Melissa, Joshua Parker Prasatik and wife, Sara, Chelsea Anne Prasatik, and Jesse Cade Prasatik; seven great-grandchildren, Isabelle Grace Prasatik, Jameson Gray Prasatik, June Ruth Prasatik, Madeline Elizabeth Prasatik, Graham Parker Prasatik, Thomas William Prasatik, and Dovie Anne Janik. He served his country in the United States Army 1st Calvary Division during the Korean War. He attended Wharton Junior College and is a graduate of the University of Houston with a degree in Business Administration. Norm retired in 1989 from Shell Oil Company with over 30 years' service. Norm also served his communities in various activities where he and his wife lived: Deacon, First Presbyterian Church, Sugar Land; Players Agent, Alameda Little League, Houston; Secretary/Treasurer, Sugar Land Lions Club; twenty years' service to the City of Sugar Land (eleven years, Chairman, Planning and Zoning Commission; six years, City Council Member; three years, member of the municipal Airport Joint (County/City) Zoning Board; Secretary/Treasurer, 100 Club of Gillespie County. He was a life member of the University of Houston Alumni Association; Norm is a life member of the 100 Club of Fort Bend County and the 100 Club of Heritage Hills Country Club House, Fredericksburg, Texas. In 2013, a timely decision was made by norm and Betty Jean to move to the newly developed, The Pinnacle, facility for Independent Living and continued Care in New Braunfels, Texas. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Norm's name to the charity of your choice.
