Best Send Flowers Share Leon Best Obituary TORRINGTON, Wyo. --- Leon Dean Best, 72, died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012. at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rick Cederholm officiating. Cremation has taken place. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home. Leon was born Dec. 20, 1939, in Alliance, the son of Noel and Agnes (Schmick) Best. He attended school and worked in Alliance at various feedlots. In 1972 he moved to Torrington, Wyo. where he worked for Farmers Equipments Company for two years. Leon married Mary Ann Floth at Guernsey, Wyo. Nov. 8, 1974. The couple lived in Torrington. He worked at Don Johnson's Dairy and for Bill Poage and Yoder Grain Feedlot. He retired in 2002. Leon loved fishing and playing cards…especially playing pitch. He liked horses and stockcar racing. Survivors include his wife Mary Ann of Torrington; son Dusty (Tammy) Best of Gillette, Wyo.; daughter, Wendy (Eric) Grant of Scottsbluff; son, TJ Best of Jacksonville, N.C.; brothers, Bob (Ginger) Best and Doug (Donna) Best both of Alliance; sister, Joan Watson of Scottsbluff and grandchildren, Mackenzie, Dillon and Kacee Best. Preceding him in death were his parents and brother, David Best. Published by The Star-Herald from Feb. 22 to Feb. 24, 2012.
