Stapleton of Pampa will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Coker-Mathews Chapel with Bobby Renfro officiating. Burial will be in the Van Sickle Cemetery. Mr. Stapleton, 91, died Friday morning in Pampa. A native of Greenville, he was born March 12, 1894 to Perry C. and Mollie Stewart Stapleton. He married Mamie Bybee in Greenville in 1927. Mr. Stapleton moved to Pampa in 1928 and ran the Pampa News Stand until his retirement in 1953. He was a Baptist and a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge 934. Surviving are a son, Thurman Stapleton of Pampa; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Opal Kingsberry of Irving; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife on July 24, 1982. Per: John Armstrong.
