Mary Josephine Davis Koenning was born on June 10, 1897 in Jackson County outside of Edna, Texas to Benjamin Franklin and Anna Josephine Dunlap Davis. She married William Joseph Koenning on December 23, 1914 in Ganado, Texas son of William Marion and Emma L Redman Koenning. William Joseph and Mary Josephine Davis Koenning had six children. Their oldest child James Cole Koenning passed away December 23,1932 at the age of 17.
