Bio

Mrs. Carrie Featherston, 77, died in a local hospital at 6:45 p.m. Monday, after a brief illness. Mrs. Featherston was born in the Baxter community and was a resident at 303 West Corsicana in Athens at the time of her death. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church. Her husband, Ed Featherston, died Jan 5, 1932. Survivors include a son, the Rev. Clayton Featherston of Tyler; two daughters, Mrs. Ivy Garner of Dallas and Mrs. Lockie Anthony of Eustace; three brothers, Dee and Whit Richardson, both of Athens and French Richardson of Baxter; a sister, Mrs. Katie Knight of LaRue, eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Services were held Tuesday at 4 p.m. from the Central Baptist Church with the Rev. T. L. Slimp and the Rev. Frank L. Epeprson officiating.
