Funeral Services for Willie Jo Welch Ring, 82, of Athens are scheduled at 4:00 P.M, Monday at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Beck's Chapel Cemetery, Henderson County. Mrs. Ring died Wednesday, November 22, 2006 in Dallas. She was born May 6, 1924 in Athens to the late Henry G. and Geneva Brooks Welch. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sammie Ring; brothers, Clyde Welch, Hubert Welch, and Robert Welch; a sister, Lillian (Bill) Stockard. Mrs. Ring was a resident of Athens all of her life, and was a fabulous seamstress. She made some beautiful quilts, cabbage patch dolls, and she was also a wonderful cook. "You have NEVER eaten good Chicken and Dumplins, until you had hers". She loved to read her bible every day, prayed for everyone, and always gave to others. Survived by daughters, Nancy Burnett, Athens; Bonnie Jo King, Malakoff; Connie Jean Lide, Rockwall; son, James Benton Ring, Malakoff; grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Gentry, Greenville; Racheal Michelle Gray, Rockwall; Laura Ravon Bagwell, Rockwall; LaDonna Sue Cullefer, Malakoff; Elizabeth Diane Burnett, Dallas; great grandchildren, David Edgar Logan, Log Cabin; Gabriel Glover, Rockwall; Lucas Dean Gentry, Gun Barrel City; Courtney Elexis Gray, Rockwall; baby Caleb, Rockwall; Heather Nichole LaFond, Malakoff; Zackry William Cullefer, Malakoff and other family members and a host of friends.
