Bio

Adelbert David Van Wagoner May 14, 1933 - April 21, 2023 (age of 89) David was raised in a very hard working and musical family! He learned to play guitar, banjo, and sing at a very young age! David taught his wife JoAnne to play guitar and his mother Rubelle taught her to play piano. Together they played in bands and entertained their family and friends throughout their lifetime. He loved camping and fishing, and frequently went deer hunting with his brothers and children! He was also a talented gardener, and raised pigs, chickens, goats, rabbits, sheep, and milk cows to provide wholesome food for his family. David served in the Navy starting on August 31st, 1949, and was Honorably discharged August 30th, 1959. David was a very talented auto mechanic, welder, carpenter, and was also a Maintenance Forman in the coal mines for many years. He was a member and an Elder for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was sealed to his wife, JoAnne, and children Forever and for all Eternity... David and JoAnne raised 8 loving children! Oldest to youngest: Linda Marie (Tom Walsh), David Allen (Debra), William Ray (Luann), James Dale, John Lyndon (Marianne Rozsahegyi), Marilyn JoAnne (Eddie Olsen), Carolyn Diane (Clark Atwood), and Shirley Ann. After Joanne passed away on May 17th, 2015, David married Rae Brinkerhoff in 2016 which ended with her sudden death after nearly a year. The following year he was happily married to Mareah Curtis for almost 4 years until his time of passing. David was blessed with 33 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren. David is survived by his eight children, brothers Dale Van Wagoner, and Greg Van Wagoner, and his sisters, Helen Van Wagoner Harmon and Judy Van Wagoner Rice Preceding him in death are his parents, brothers Ronald Leroy Van Wagoner, Dan Van Wagoner, Lorraine Van Wagoner Gautney, Virginia Van Wagoner, and Gary Van Wagoner. David will truly be missed by all, as he was a very loving, caring, and happy person! Everyone that knows him will never forget his wonderful smile! Funeral Service will be Saturday, May 6, 2023, in the Castle Dale 3rd Ward. Viewing will be at 9:30 am, Funeral service at 11:00 am, and interment in Cleveland Town Cemetery. Service arrangements are in care of Fausett Mortuary of Price and Castle Dale.
