Frances Jean LaPoint passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on July 16, 2023 in Dallas, Texas. Frances was born in Peters, Texas on July 23, 1931 to McKinley and Olga Pless Brosig, both of whom preceded her in death along with her beloved husband of 56 years, Lerney LaPoint. Also preceding Frances in passing are her sons Larry LaPoint, Ryan LaPoint and great grandson Trevor Chesson. To know Frances was to know the love of Jesus because she had a heart as big as the state of Texas! Frances was inclusive and would take anyone into her heart and her home. She would make fried chicken, rice and beans and the family would all gather around and share life and love together and include any additional person who may have showed up. Frances was an avid reader and would enjoy Nicholas Sparks books, Westerns, and precious love stories; she also enjoyed going to the Bristol Opry and tapping her toes and clapping along with the uplifting music. Frances and her beloved Lerney moved to Terrell, and they lived here 51 years building their home, community, and church. Frances was a beloved member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Terrell where she faithfully served for many years. One thing each of Frances' children knew with a certainty is that when most were in bed asleep, mother would be burning the midnight oil praying over her children and each of the children will continue to hold those prayers dearly in their hearts. Left to cherish Frances' love and memories are her beloved children, Leonard LaPoint and wife Jeannie, Linda White and husband Jerry, Pam Carnes and husband Brad, Eva Pennington and husband Randy, Stephen LaPoint, Chrissy Day and husband Jimmie, along with brother Bert Brosig. Also left to carry on her legacy are her grandchildren Emily Abshire and husband Boyd, Aimee Chesson and husband Shane, Nathan White, Brandy Carnes, Chris Carnes and wife Sarah, Cheryl Duckworth and husband Chris, Chad Pennington and wife Lindsey, Jamie LaPoint, Larry LaPoint and wife Tiffany, Ashley McCubbins, Angela Henderson and husband Tyler along with 19 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, family and a host of friends. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, July 21, 2023 at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Terrell, Texas beginning at 11:00 a.m. A Rosary will be recited thirty minuets prior to the beginning of the Mass. The family will receive guest and friends during a visitation from 5 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at Max Slayton Chapel in Terrell, Texas
