Published in the Arcadia Guide, Arcadia, Nebraska, Thursday, April 17, 1952, Page 1, Column 1 Vatslaf Lehedgka Died At Kearney on April 6 Vatalaf Lehedgka was born in Czechoslovakia, June 18, 1884. He passed away at the Kearney State Hospital April 6, 1952. He was 67 years old at his passing. He had been a patient at the hospital for the past seven years. He came to the United States at the age of 16 years and settled in New York State. It was here that he met Barbara Chudek and they were married in the year 1907. They made their home there for several years and then moved to Custer county, Nebraska, where they lived for some time; later they came to a farm in Valley county, where they lived until seven years ago. Mrs. Lehedgka and a daughter, Mildred, preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his passing three sons, George of Omaha, Lloyd of Lincoln, Robert of Denver, and four daughters, Mrs. Emma Zabloudil of Lexington, Mrs. Bess Wilson of Burwell, Mrs. Agnes Foth of Ord, and Mrs. Lydia Luedtke of Arcadia, several other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held at the Hastings-Pearson chapel in Ord at 2 pm Wednesday. Keith Shepherd officiated. Pall-bearers were members of the ZCBJ Lodge No. 112 of which Mr. Lehedgka had been a member for many years. Burial was in the National cemetery west of Ord. The ZCBJ Lodge assisted in conducting the last rites at the graveside. (Contributed by [email protected]
