Bio
On Tuesday, July 4th, 2023, Heaven gained two angels. Living a life of 70 years full of love and friendship, Rick and Susan Nutzman passed away together from injuries sustained in an automobile accident at Hamilton Missouri. Ricky Evan Nutzman was born on May 5th, 1953, in Falls City, Nebraska to Edwin and Jean Nutzman. He attended Falls City Public School and graduated from Falls City High School with the class of 1971. After graduation, Rick then attended Southeast Community College in Milford, Nebraska where he graduated in 1973 with a degree in Diesel Mechanics. He was a 4th generation farmer, farming many acres in Nebraska and Missouri. Rick was an avid outdoorsman, especially enjoying hunting and fishing. He was a volunteer for the Falls City Rural Volunteer Fire Department. Rick was a father figure to so many and valued his family and friendships. Rick and Susan Hines were united in marriage on March 10, 1979. Together they shared three amazing children, Cozett, Devan, and Derrick. They were also blessed with three adorable grandchildren, Quinne Alize, Lonnie Marie, and Declan William. Rick was preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Jean Nutzman, sister Dania Nutzman, in-laws Leonard and Beatrice Hines, and brother-in-law Lonnie Hines. Rick was survived by his loving children: Cozett Knight and her husband Isaac, Devan Nutzman and his partner Andy Sayborivong, and Derrick Nutzman and his wife Bonnie, grandchildren: Quinne Alize, Lonnie Marie and Declan William, sisters-in-law Lenice and Sally Hines (Susan's twin). A Celebration of Life Service was held jointly with Susan at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Prichard Auditorium, 312 W. 17th Street in Falls City, Nebraska with Pastors Will Certain and Randy Seedorff officiating. Visitation was held from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Prichard Auditorium in Falls City. Family greeted friends from 5-7 p.m. at the auditorium. Graveside Services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Williamsville Cemetery (aka Saint Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery) in rural Falls City, Nebraska.
