Source: Daily Ardmoreite MARIETTA -- Graveside rites for J.P. Rickets, 92, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Lakeview Cemetery with Dr. Alton Fannin officiating. Born Dec. 23, 1909, in Orr to Claude Alvion and Leona Ethel Harper Rickets, he died June 1, 2002, at an Ardmore health care facility. He was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Wilson. He married Vera Hazel Darter in November 1928 in Sulphur. Rickets had lived in Love County for the past 64 years. He was a retired farmer-rancher. Rickets was a Baptist. He had attended several area churches. His work was his pleasure. Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Arthur and Kay Rickets, Marietta; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Louise and Harvey Deihl, El Paso, Texas; four grandchildren, Drew Rickets, Lance Rickets, Mary Ann Riley and Jerold Jackson; and nine great-grandchildren, Christopher, Andrea, Jordan, Zachary, Casidy, Erin, Daylon, Chris and Shelby. Honorary bearers are Jack Parker and grandsons, Drew Rickets, Lance Rickets, and Jerold Jackson. Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.
