Gilmer Mirror Upshur Co. Dec 29, 1932 Mrs Nancy Rutledge died Friday morning at the age of 93. Mrs Nancy Rutledge age 93 quietly passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs Clara Landsdale in the Bettie neighborhood, she was one of the pioneer women of the county, a noble Christian woman who was beloved by all who knew her, She is survived by the following children; Mrs Clara Landsdale of the county; W.A. Rutledge of Gilmer, Mrs Irene Davis of Wichita Falls. C.N. Rutledge of Seymour, and John Rutledge of this county. Her funeral will take place Saturday morning with Rev w. R. Arlington performing the last sad rites, and she will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery. Note. Nancy Perthnia Davis Rutledge was born in Cabarrus co. North Carolina to W. Allen Davis known siblings were Jane Rebecca Davis West Herron and Joseph Davis. Nancy married Nathan Franklin Rutledge Feb 24, 1858 in Shelby co. Tennessee. They moved to Arkansas where most of the children were born and then on to Upshur county.
