Wilbert M. Kale, born February 14, 1868 in Scott Township, near Peru to James Kale, born in Ohio and Reual E. Kale, born in Illinois, passed away at his home in Hanley on Sunday, February 22, 1942 at 10:00 a.m., srteuo scherons, I. K. Sayre, M. D., St. Charles, Iowa. Funeral services were held February 24, 1942, in St. Charles, Tuesday afternoon and burial was in the St. Charles cemetery, H. F. Reed, undertaker, wife of Lulu M. Kale. Winterset Madisonian, Winterset, Iowa, Wednesday, February 25, 1942. WILBERT MONVILLE KALE HELD FUNERAL SERVICES FOR W. M. KALE TUESDAY St. Charles-Special-March 2, 1942 Rev. L. M. Kirby conducted the funeral services at the Methodist Church Tuesday afternoon for Wilbert M. Kale, who passed away at his home Sunday morning after an illness extending over several months. He was born in 1868 and was a pioneer resident of Scott Township, coming later to South Township in 1903. He leaves his wife, formerly Miss Lulu Howard and two daughters, Mrs. Ferne Balmer of Oregon and Mrs. Audrey Johnson of Grant. His son, Harold preceded him in death in 1932 and an adopted son, Robert Russell died at the age of three years. Also two brother, N. L. Kale of Los Angeles and John of Michigan and two sisters, Mrs. Corrie McNeeley and Mrs. Etta Husted of Des Moines. Burial was made in the Charles Cemetery. Kale passed away at his home in Hanley on Sunday, Feb. 22, after an illness of several months. He was born in Scott township near Peru in 1866, but had lived near St. Charles for many years.
