Johnie Joe Braun Funeral services for Johnie Joe Braun were held March 27 at First Lutheran in Temple with Rev Ardene Wuthrich officiating. Burial was in Bartlett City Cemetery. Johnie Joe Braun was born Feb 11, 1917 as Johnie Joe Dugger west of Holland to John F Dugger and Lona Pearl Mayo-Dugger-Brice. Her father was killed by a train while hauling a bale of cotton in a mule-drawn wagon to the gin in Holland prior to Johnie's birth. Her mother passed away in 1942 in Bartlett. Johnie attended Hackberry School as a child and graduated from Bartlett High. Later she attended a business college in Dallas. Johnie married Fred A Braun of Bartlett on Oct 13, 1937. He was transferred by the US Postal Service to Waco in 1942, where they lived until 1978. She was preceded in death by an infant son; her mother & father; two sisters, Lois Cross and Ruby Lee Mastrovitch; and three brothers, J B Dugger, Wilson Dugger, and Ewing Brice. Survivors include one brother, Earl Brice of Granbury; her husband, Fred Braun of Belton; two children, Dick Braun and Dianne Rowton of Belton; 4 granchdilren and 8 great-grandchildren. Scanio-Harper Funeral Home of Temple was in charge.
