Doris (DEE/DOTTIE) Knauf Rutherford White March 29, 1931 - June 7, 2023 Doris Knauf was born in Houston, TX in 1931 and was called to her heavenly home on June 7, 2023. She was preceded in death by parents William and Olga Knauf, her husband Jack Rutherford, husband Al Hromadka and husband Douglas White and son Calvin Rutherford. Dee is survived by her loving children Gretchen Minchew and husband Dewain, Mamie Dahl and husband Ronny, Jon Rutherford and wife Martina, sister Dianne Reese; grandchildren Aaron, Matthew, Jennifer and husband Steve and Travis and wife Desiree, Nici, Gabi, Melodee; great grandchildren Peyton, Presley, Dax, Caaden, Maxim, Higgins, Elle, and arriving November 2023, Calvin Lee Woods whom she was very excited to meet. Dee was a St. Mark Lutheran Church member in Houston, TX before transferring her membership to Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Lewisville in 1977. She proudly served in the WPS - Widows Person Services, Red Hatters Society, Lewisville Thrive Center where she was active in the sing-a-long group and the Lewisville Garden Club. Dee worked in property management in Houston, TX before moving with her family to Lewisville, TX in 1977 where she served in her church and in the community. Dee had life long friends in Houston and quickly made new friends in Lewisville where she enjoyed the Lewisville Senior Dances and bringing friends together for a variety of outings and get togethers. Dee never met a stranger and thoroughly enjoyed meeting new people and making new friends. She was known for her beautiful smile, uplifting attitude, and loving spirit and always made time to call and check on her family and friends. Her zest for life and positive attitude was contagious, she absolutely loved to make people smile and her greatest passion was her family and dear friends. To know Dee was to love Dee and her light will continue to shine bright through her family and all who loved her. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
