Arnold, Virginia Rowena Marler Traveled Extensively And Loved The Friendships She Had Thursday, September 15, 2022 Virginia Rowena Marler Arnold left this world to join her husband Reeford with their Lord on September 13, 2022. Born in Rhea County on March 13,1928, the youngest child of Marion and Mary Elizabeth Marler, she graduated from Rhea County High School and briefly worked as a nurse's aide before marrying Reeford Arnold on March 18, 1947, a marriage that lasted almost 53 years before his death in 2000. She traveled extensively with her husband across the USA, but her greatest love was returning home to be with her family and her church family. The friendships she made with members of the Faith Sunday School class brought her years of happiness. She is survived by her three children, Phyllis (Tom) Hunter, Randy Arnold and Libby (David) Walker; five grandchildren Jesse (Linda) Hunter; Scott (Carrie) Hunter; Wesley (Nicole) Walker; Megan (David) Swartout, and Brian (Kat) Walker; seven great-grandchildren Riley Hunter, Kate Hunter, Jackson Hunter, Shelby Hunter, Ben Swartout, Allie Swartout and Harley Walker. The family would like to express their appreciation to the caregivers of Right at Home and the nurses and staff of Hospice of Chattanooga. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17, at Lane Funeral Home, with a 2 p.m. service to follow in the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home, with Bill Harvey and Jesse Hunter officiating. Interment will follow at 4 p.m. in the Shaver Cemetery in Dayton, Tn. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Red Bank Baptist Church or the charity of their choice.
