Bio

Lafayette – Funeral Services for Helen Marie Breaux Menard, 83, will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at David Funeral Home of Lafayette with Fr. David Hebert officiating. Interment will follow at St. Anne Mausoleum in Youngsville. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 29, 2023 from 2:00PM until 9:00PM and resume on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 8:00AM until the time of Service. A native of Winnie, Texas and a resident of Youngsville, she passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at her residence. Helen worked many years as a butcher's assistant and meat wrapper at a local grocery store. Since retirement, she has enjoyed her time off tending to her yard and garden, fishing with Pop and preparing wonderful meals for her family and friends. She is survived by her long-time companion, Louis "Pop" Huval; a son, Al Landry and his wife Liz of Carencro; a daughter, Paula Broussard of Kinder; five grandchildren, Brittany Wishtischin and her husband David, Kayla Bernard and her husband Joey, Benjamin Landry, Cody Mrak and Kelsie Broussard; and five great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Earnest Breaux and Lucille Seymour, and her five older siblings. Helen was most happy when cooking for those she loved. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to charities in your area that provide meals for children and the poor. Pallbearers are Brian Huval, Ryan Huval, Cody Mrak, Joey Bernard, David Wishtischin and Benjamin Landry.
