married Dwight G on Nov. 5 1955 MEAD - Lona Mae Schulz, 69, of Mead, died Monday, Oct 15 in Omaha. Schulz was born July 22, 1932 to Ordway and Julia Scoles in Riverton, Iowa. She moved to the Mead area as a young child. She attended school in Mead and graduated from Mead High School in 1950. On Nov 5, 1955, she was united in marriage to Dwight Schulz in Mead. She worked as an LPN at the Wahoo Community Hospital for four years and then at Western Electric for 25 years before retiring in 1984. She was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed the Nebraska Cornhuskers. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Wahoo and the Alma Lutheran Church Women in Mead. She is preceded in death by a daughter; Roxanne Schulz. She is survived by her husband; a son, Mitch Zaugg of Mead; a brother; Robert Scoles of Mead; a sister, Eletha Beam of Elkhorn; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct 20 at Alma Lutheran Church in Mead with Rev Jane Denison officiating. Burial will be at Alma Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, Oct 19 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Pruss Funeral Home in Wahoo and one hour prior to the service at the church. Pall bearers will be Harold Petersen, Jerome Subbert, Jerome Moline, Loren Berggren, Quincy Adams and Paul Kennedy. Memorials may be made to Alma Lutheran Church in Mead. Pruss Funeral Home of Wahoo is in charge of the arrangements.
