Bio

Dwight was born to Fred & Bertha (Kennec) Schulz. He graduated from Yutan High School at the age of 16 and the very next day, began working as a truck driver. On November 5-1955, Dwight married Lona Scoles at Alma Lutheran Church in Mead, NE. He was a gifted athlete and played catcher in the Pioneer Night League and once caught for Bob Gibson. Dwight also shot pool and bowled and enjoyed a good game of Poker or Pitch. He worked as a Postal Clerk and later as Postmaster in Omaha for 30 years. He and Lona traveled regularly to places like Las Vegas and Hawaii and attended as many Major League Baseball Training Games as possible. He was a long time member of Alma Lutheran Church in Mead.
