Bio

Darwin (Dobber) Lee King, 55, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 15, 2023 at his residence in Kansas, OK. He was born on September 18, 1967 to Herbert Marvin King and Nina Mae Hutchison in Portland, Oregon. Dobber attended school at Siloam Springs, Arkansas, and Jay, Oklahoma. At about the age of 16, he began the life of a truck driver, learning from his brother, Butch. He drove for almost 33 years, alongside kinfolk, and was an employee of Simmons Foods. In 2018, he left the Trucking Industry, and became an employee of Kansas Public Schools, in Kansas, Oklahoma. That's where he became a devoted member of the Kansas Comets family. Dobber loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He very much enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing corn hole, and especially camping with family and friends. He enjoyed watching college and professional football. His favorite teams were the Oregon Ducks, Oklahoma State Cowboys, the Arizona Cardinals, and any team that played against the Oklahoma Sooners, or the Kansas City Chiefs. But the team he prided himself on the most was the Kansas Comets Varsity Football team. He did not miss a game this past season and would be standing outside the locker room to fist bump the players, and high five them when they returned to the field after half time. He also enjoyed watching his granddaughters play softball, and his grandsons in basketball and baseball. Dobber will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Dobber is survived by his wife Leslie King of Kansas, OK, and his fur baby, Rastas; his daughter Erica Cochran and husband Jeramy of Jay, OK, Kendra King, of Jay, OK; Son, Colby King and girlfriend Kristina Pinneke, of Jay, OK; Stepdaughter Melissa Blackbird and husband Thomas of Oaks, OK; Stepson Garick Davis of Oaks, OK; his sisters, Jean Rowe of Grove, OK, Dixie Tiedeman of Grove, OK, Tamara Giles and husband Rusty of Grove, OK, Patty Andrew of Grove, OK, Judy Musgrove and husband Ray of Oregon, and one brother, Danny King and Billie Hedgpath of Jay, OK; In-laws, John and Crystal Sroufe of Colcord, OK, Lynelle Smith of Oaks, OK, and BJ King of Jay, OK; Together, Dobber and Leslie had 17 grandchildren: Rowdy, Zachie T., Brayden, Kaybree, Aubrey, Jasey, Kota, Aiden, Alexis, Bryce, Rory, Kason, Avery, Addie, Olivia, Ryker, and Sami; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of family and friends.
