Danny Ray Thompson July 8, 1956 — April 20, 2023 Gilmer Croley Funeral Home Services for Mr. Danny Ray Thompson, 66, of Gilmer will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, April 24, 2023, at the Hopewell Cemetery in Upshur County with Bro. Donny Chamberlain officiating. The family will receive family and friends on Sunday, April 23 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Croley Funeral Home. Mr. Thompson passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023, in Gilmer. Danny was born on July 8, 1956, in Big Sandy, TX to the late Thomas "T.A." Thompson and Donnie (Harper) Thompson. He married Billie Ann Wingfield on September 17, 1976, who passed away in June 2014. He worked for a good part of his life as a Dairyman and then worked for Upshur County in their Roads and Bridges Department until his retirement. Danny is survived by his sons, Michael and his wife, Lauren Thompson of Longview, Wesley and his wife Jennifer Thompson of Gilmer; siblings, Beverly Bouknight, Margie Buhcanan, and Dale Thompson; grandchildren, Zac, Sydnie, Chance, Matthew, Elisabeth, Audrey, Samantha and Tiffany Thompson. He is preceded in death by his parents, T.A. and Donnie Thompson; wife, Billie Ann Thompson; brothers, Randall Thompson and Donald Thompson.
