Bio

Dr. Harmon O. Tidd, age 95, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Country Club Retirement Center in Ashtabula, Ohio after a long struggle with dementia. Harmon was born March 27,1922 in Ashtabula, Ohio. He graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1939 and from Ohio University in 1943. He joined the US Army after graduation and received his medical degree in 1951 from Western Reserve School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. Harmon began his family practice in Ashtabula in 1953 which he continued until his retirement. Harmon married Mary Corbin in 1948 and together had four sons. He enjoyed travelling, singing in the church choir, genealogy, golfing and biking. Harmon was preceded in death by his wife Mary in 1987, and his second wife Doris Diehl in 2005. Two sons also predeceased him - Jim in 2007, and Rick in 2014. He is survived by his sons David (Anne) Tidd of Ashtabula, and Doug (Elizabeth) Tidd of Ann Arbor, MI, as well as grandchildren Brian Tidd, Jamie Bradford, Sarah Tidd, Meredith Mason, Benjamin Tidd and Megan Willis, and many great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
