Bio

Maynard J.G. Vrbka, age 90, of Norfolk, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at his home in Norfolk. Maynard was born January 18, 1933, in Seward County, Nebraska to Alois & Emma Vrbka. He grew up in Butler County, Nebraska and later joined the United States Air Force (1953-1957) out of Rapid City, South Dakota. He met and married Theresa Giroux, on February 18, 1957, and together raised 5 children in Norfolk. He delivered milk for Gillette Dairy and later worked for and retired from Nucor Steel. Maynard loved polka music and a good peach kolache! Maynard is survived by his 5 children, 7 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Burial at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Offutt Air Force Base Honor Guard, American Legion Post 16 and VFW Post 1644.
