Lonnie Griffith (Walker), 90, passed away March 8, 2023 in Phenix City, Alabama. She was born September 1, 1932 to Buster and Alma Walker (Edwards) in Coffee County, Alabama. Lonnie worked hard all her life to help and provide for her family. She worked at the Waffle House in Ennis for about 30 years, she was also a Manager for JC Penney's. Lonnie was a very independent and feisty woman, always wanting to take care of everything herself. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Griffith; her parents; daughters, Karen Griffith, and Patricia Alexander; great grandson, Brendan; sisters, Doris Bell, Lavada Hinson and brother, William Walker. She is survived by her daughter, Misty Tovar and husband Juan of Phenix City, Alabama; sons, Michael Griffith and wife Kim of Bayville, New Jersey and Stanley Phillips and wife Courtney of Rice, Texas; 6 grandchildren, Kristina Griffith, Michael Griffith, Kimberly Edwards and husband Herron, Nirvair Singh, Jeremy Jockish and Grant Alexander; 10 great grandchildren, Kayla, Erick, Jaxon, Aiden, Domanic, James, Zuriel, Nevaeh, Erika and Ambereen; and 5 great great-grandchildren, Ellie, Emerson, Enzo, Gianna and Sicilia. To honor Lonnie's life, a visitation with the family will be from 5-7pm Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Corley Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Wednesday March 15 at 11 o'clock in the morning at Rice Cemetery.
