Bio

First marriage Elma Lorraine Horning (1925) in 1944 Jerry Pesha, age 104, of Spokane, Washington, formerly of Wibaux, Montana passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Ridgeview Place in Spokane. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 10:30 A.M. at Silha Funeral Home in Wibaux with Pastor Carol Rahn officiating. Interment will take place at Beach City Cemetery in Beach, North Dakota. Silha Funeral Home of Wibaux has been entrusted with the arrangements. Jerry Pesha was born May 12, 1918 near Polluck, South Dakota, the son of Josef and Antonia (Riha) Pesha. His given name was Jaroslav Pesa, meaning spring celebration. Jerry was educated in Campbell County, South Dakota and moved to Wibaux County in May of 1934 with his brother, Joseph Pesha Jr., with their parents following in September of 1934. He lived in NE Wibaux County along the Beaver Creek for sixty years. Jerry married Elma Horning in 1944, and they had two daughters, LaRae (Metz) and Patricia (Miller). Elma passed away suddenly in 1955. Jerry later married Etta Mae (Urban) Sich in August of 1957. Along with her two sons, Lyle and Allen, they all lived together in Wibaux as a family of six. Jerry and Etta Mae moved from the Ranch into "town" in 1994, where they resided until her passing in 2019. After Etta Mae's passing, Jerry moved to Spokane Valley, Washington, where he lived out his remaining years. Jerry enjoyed many things in life, but some of his favorites were his cattle, horses, faithful dog, Lady and walking in the hills. In his later years, he enjoyed playing gin and pinochle with his longtime friends and family. Jerry was a story teller, often recounting stories of going to dances as a young man and driving each of the ladies in town safely to their homes for the night. Always a gentleman. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Elma; daughter, Patricia; sons Lyle and Allen; brothers, Godfrey, Joseph, Charles and Frankie; sister, Rose; two nephews; one grandson and most recently by his beloved wife, Etta Mae. Jerry is survived by his daughter and son in law, LaRae and Richard Metz; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren and his sister, Elsa Russell.
