Bio

Daughter of Joe and Mell Smith, born in Erath Co., TX, and died in Graham, Young Co., TX; on double marker with Robert L. Clifton (1874-1936). She married R. L. Clifton in Erath Co., but had lived in Young Co., TX since 1951, due to her health. ---------- Graveside services for Mrs. R.L. Clifton, 91, were officiated by Rev. Buford Stockard, pastor of the Morningside Baptist Church in Graham, Texas. Mrs. Clifton moved to the Hot Wells Hotel near South Bend, Texas in 1952 from Victor, Texas. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Survived by three daughters - Mrs. B.H. Macon, Mrs. Ike Vaughn, Mrs. Curtis W Whitaker; one daughter-in-law - Mrs. E.R. Clifton; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister - Mrs. Lola Copeland. Bio by Searchers of Our Past (47220553)
