Son has ashes.
Memorial first created by son Larry Mary Margaret Hudson Ciet, a long-time resident of Utah, having moved here when she was a child, passed away peacefully in the arms of her oldest son as she slept. She was born on August 22, 1944 in Vancouver, Washington, where her parents worked in the shipyards during World War II. She had fond memories of when she was a little girl being at her grandma Elnora Eva Shimek Wanek's ranch in Lost Springs, Wyoming. She attended Moab High School and married Larry Lee Sheets, Sr. They had one child together, Larry Lee Sheets Ciet, Jr. They were later divorced and she moved to Salt Lake City where she met her second husband, Jack Arnold Ciet. They were married on September 29, 1968. Jack adopted Larry and together she and Jack had two children, John Robert Ciet and Amber Kaye Ciet. Mary was a nurse and worked in labor and delivery, caring for the elderly, and, her favorite calling, caring for disabled children at home and in schools. She made many friends as a nurse and impacted many lives. Her favorite activity was anything, as long as her family was there. She and her husband, Jack, went to New York for the first time last November and she did what she always wanted to do: go to a Broadway play, visit Central Park, and eat a Waldorf Salad at the Waldorf Astoria. She loved camping, fishing and hunting. She loved family traditions during the holidays. She would be the first to admit she wasn't a cook. As a matter of practicality, she would make large quantities at the first of the week so she wouldn't have to cook again for days. Unfortunately, she believed in speed reheating on the stove top and many of her leftovers were "toast" before they made it back to the dinner table. Her scorched goulash will finally be missed! Mary is survived by her husband, Jack, of 49 years; her children Larry Ciet (Thomas Campbell), John (Eunkyong "Kay") Ciet, Amber Ciet; a sister, Billie Jean (Leonard) Kaufman; grandchildren Gabrielle Minyoung Ciet, Caroline Minkyoung Ciet, Jack Minjin Ciet; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Hughie and Mildred Belle Wanek Hudson and a sister, Ramona Louise Hudson. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church , 715 West 300 North, Salt Lake City, Utah, at 10:45AM on Saturday, November 21, 2015. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity in Mary's memory. Mary asked that there be no funeral, but rather a celebration of her life and the gift of family and friends. Because mom always got her way, there will be a celebration immediately after the Catholic Funeral Mass. All are welcome to attend. The location is to be determined.
