Marriage: July 3, 1901 - Pensacola, Escambia, Florida Pensacola newspaper article, Jul 27, 1935 Marvin Stearns Expires at Home Marvin Stearns, 56, veteran former employe of the city of Pensacola, died yesterday at the residence of his sister, Mrs. Charles Thompson, 19 North Spring street, after a long illness. He is survived by his widow, one son, Harold, three sisters, Miss Lottie Stearns and Mrs. Charles Thompson of Pensacola and Mrs. Perry Clark of Houston, Tex., two brothers, Wesley and Richard Stearns of Pensacola, and a granddaughter, Betty Joyce Stearns of Pensacola. Funeral services will be conducted this afternoon at 4 o'clock from the residence of Mrs. Thompson and at 4:45 o'clock from Gadsden Street Methodist church. Burial will be in St. John's cemetery. Escambia Lodge No. 15, F. and A. M., will be in charge of services at the grave. Waters and Hibbert are in charge of funeral arrangements. #2 Pensacola newspaper, Jul 28, 1935 Funeral services for Marvin Stearns, veteran former city employe, who died Friday at the residence of his sister, Mrs. Charles Thompson, 19 North Spring street, after a long illness, will be held this afternoon at 4 o'clock from the Thompson residence and at 4:15 o'clock from Gadsden Street Methodist church. Burial will be in St. John's cemetery. Escambia Lodge No. 15, F. and A. M. , will be in charge of services at the grave. Pallbearers will be: Honorary, Dr. W. D. Nobles, L. E. Nobles, J. J. Crooke, Will Moyer, J. G. Torrence, Capt. J. A. Bazzell, William Tyler and Walter Bennett; active, Rowland Stearns, Dudley Clarke, Raymond Briggs, Dan Moyer, Glenn Richards, Jim Herron, Wilbert Langford and Angus Douglas. Waters and Hibbert are in charge of arrangements. Mr. Stearns was chief sanitary inspector for the city until he retired because of ill health.
