Georgia was born on January 24, 1940, in Lavaca, County to Isidor and Annie (Cerny) Malik. She was the seventh of ten children. She moved to Houston as a young woman, working as a meatwrapper/butcher for JMH, Minimax, and finally Randalls. Georgia loved her job, co-workers, and customers. She was awarded Randalls Employee of the Year and retired in 2008 after 35 years with them. A country girl, Georgia loved to hunt, fish, and garden. She was an amazing cook and seamstress. She enjoyed puzzles, socializing, turkey shoots, being with family, and cold beer. She was a 57 year member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Missouri City, Texas, and K.J.Z.T. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandma. Georgia was resilient, hardworking, tough, independent, stubborn, blunt, loyal, loving, and defiant. You had to love her, even if she was exasperating. Georgia is survived by daughter, Darlene (Robert) Tatum, and beloved granddaughters, Kelly and Jamie Tatum. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Sally, Carolyn and Donna Malik, Godsons Steven Sladecek and Darrell Malik, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Sladecek, whom she married in 1964, her parents, and nine sibings: Louis, Leonita, Margaret, Johnny, Isidor, Daniel, B.J., Jerry and Edward. In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions can be made in Georgia's name to: Holy Family Catholic Church, 1510 Fifth Street,Missouri City, Texas, 77489. Please enjoy a cold pivo in her honor. Dobrou noc, Mother. Miluji te.
