Funeral services for Leonard O. Pietzsch Sr., 92, of Temple will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Scanio Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Koinm officiating. Burial will be in Greathouse Cemetery. Mr. Pietzsch died Sunday in a Temple Nursing Home. Mr. Pietzsch was born in Hamilton County to Gus August Pietzsch and Emma Eilers Pietzsch. He went to school and was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pottsville and he graduated from High School in Pottsville. He married Billie Aycock June 20, 1946. He had worked as a riveter for Consolidated Aircraft in San Diego prior to entering the service. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he was a Medical Technician in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater and he served as a Ward Clerk at McCloskey Hospital. He also worked at an airplane factory in Grand Prairie and worked at Maxfield's Sheet Metal in Temple for 38 years and worked at the VA Hospital for 8 years. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Temple. Survivors include his wife Billie Pietzsch of Temple; two sons Leonard Pietzsch and Mark Pietzsch both of Temple; one daughter Kay Hixson of Falls Church, Virginia; two brothers Wilbert Pietzsch and Jerome Pietzsch both of Hamilton; one sister Mildred Wagner of Fort Worth and one grandson Patrick Hixson of Falls Church, Virginia. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Scanio Harper Funeral Home.
