Bio

Billie Louise Pietzsch, 89, passed away May 23, 2015, in Temple. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 28, 2015, at Heights Baptist Church, with burial will follow in Greathouse Cemetery. Billie Louise was born in Waco, Texas, to the late William Homer "Bill" Aycock and Lillie Mae Underwood Aycock. She graduated from Temple High School in 1943. Billie attended Temple Junior College and Hieronymus Business School. She married Leonard O. Pietzsch, Sr. on June 20, 1946, in Waco. Billie was a member of Heights Baptist Church and was a Secretary there and at First Christian Church. She served as Secretary of Temple and was Deputy Registrar for ten years. Billie worked at Fort Hood and Darnell Army Hospital for three years and was a medical Secretary at the V.A. Hospital in Temple for 11 years. She was an active member of the Scott and White Auxiliary for 17 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, in October, 2007. Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Kay Hixson, of Falls Church, Virginia; sons, Leonard O. Pietzsch, Jr. and Mark William Pietzsch, of Temple; grandson, Patrick Shawn Hixson, of Falls Church, VA.
