William Junius Fisher was the son of Thomas Dance Fisher and Martha Elizabeth Blackwell of Fayette Co, TX. He married Evelyn Bomar Dycus on December 21, 1870 in Fayette Co. !OBITUARY, W. J. FISHER, WAELDER NEWS, JAN. 17, 1902 "W. J. Fisher had been for some time in feeble health but his death so soon was hardly expected even by those who were conversant with his physical strength and the malady that took him off diabetes. He died Monday morning at a quarter to six, and it was also his birthday, aged fifty nine. Elsewhere in this issue is an obituary and a tribute which were furnished by two different admirers of the deceased and warm friends of the family and to the writers and warm friends of who this paper feels very grateful. The daughter, Mrs. Lela Woodward, could not be here to attend the funeral as one of her children was very sick at the time and she could not leave it. F. P. and Miss Corrine arrived in time from Dallas and Waco. Other relatives attending were J. H. Fisher of Waco, R. L. Fisher, Mrs Nina Townsend and Mr. Walker of Weimar. Services were first held at the house and from there the body was brought to the Baptist Church where religious services were conducted by T. O. Sallee at the conclusion of which the large congregation filed by the open casket for the last look at the face they had known so well in life and the personality they had esteemed so highly. C. P. Hopkins, T. J. Johnston, G. C. E. Vaughan, Ben Owen, J. H. Hahn, and Dr. J. M Henderson, the pall bearers then ...?.... the casket to the hearse and the long line of March was taken up and directed to the cemetery. It was a lengthy cortege and the floral offerings that were heaped upon the ground were lovely."
