Bio
Billy J. Weeks, age 77 of Hoover, passed away at his home on February 25, 2004. He was a veteran of WWII after which he received his B. S. degree at what is now the University of North Alabama. He went into the Army Reserve as a First Lieutenant and was called back into active duty and served in Korea. He was honorably discharged from the U. S. Army Reserve as a Captain. He retired from Alabama Power Company after 34 years of loyal and faithful service. He had many wonderful experiences as a youth with his aunts, uncles, cousins and community friends as well as with his immediate family. He endeared himself to his family, friends, community and church friends because of his loving attitude, his honesty and his fairness and interest in the welfare of his fellow employees. He is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 50 years, Sue Roberts Weeks, and a devoted son, David K. Weeks; two sisters, Lorena and Erdeal; two brothers, Ozell and Bobby Gene; and sister-in-law, Sara; and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, William C. and Cornelia Beasley Weeks. Funeral services were held on February 28, 2004 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home Chapel in Pelham, with burial to follow in Liberty Cemetery in Winfield. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in his honor to the American Heart Association. Memorial bench in honor of Billy is located at Tucker Cemetery in Eldridge, Alabama.
