Bio

Lamar A. Weikle, 83, of Martinsburg, WV, formerly of Sarton, passed away Friday, February 15, 2008, at City Hospital in Martinsburg following a short illness. He was born at Waiteville on July 13, 1924, a son of the late Andrew E. and Nina Caldwell Weikle. Mr. Weikle was a retired head lineman at Dulles Internatinoal Airport for Page Airways, having retired with 27 years service, a member of the Ox Hill Baptist Church at Chantilly, VA, a veteran of World War II, having served with the 3rd Division, 7th Regiment, and he was awarded the Bronze Star. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Robert Alvin, Sebert and Armon Weikle; and 3 sisters, Callie, Garnett and Betty Jane Weikle. Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Ova Weikle of Martinsburg; a son, Audie L. Weikle of Front Royal, VA; 4 daughters, Sandra Weikle Bradley and her husband, Bill of Downington, PA, Marcia Sue Weikle of Manassas, VA, Lois Weikle Southers and her husband, Bobby, of Leesburg, VA, and Letha Jane Weikle Rubino of Martinsburg; 6 grandchildren, Cary Dominguez, Lori Cappello, Dustin Southers, Christopher Bradley, Brittany and Lee Rubino; a great-grandson, Bobby Dominguez; a sister, Gertrude Weikle of Sarton; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 19, at the Mount Herman Baptist Church at Sarton, with the Rev. Bob Ratliff officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
