Bio
Elvira Flores Kahlig, born in San Antonio, Texas on August 23, 1927 went to the Lord on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at the age of 88. She is survived by her children, Clarence J. Kahlig, II and his wife, Tina, Brenda M. Kahlig, Gary A. Kahlig, Sharon Kahlig Perez and her husband, David and John A. Kahlig and his wife, Kim. Elvira was the daughter of a deputy Sheriff of San Antonio, Jose Angel Navarro Flores and Margaret Ogden Navarro. She was the 10th of 11 children in the Flores family; as a child they lived at 602 Pruitt Ave. She attended St. Henry's Academy through the eighth grade and then attended and graduated from Luther Burbank High School in May of 1944. Elvira met her husband, Clarence at La Villita. Clarence was enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. They were married on December 22, 1945 at St. Phillip of Jesus Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas. They remained married for 68 years until Clarence's death in 2014.
