Chambers, Rebecca Chambers, & Jasper Benton Chambers ======= Owen County (Indiana) Journal, February 19, 1880, p. 5 John Chambers was born in North Carolina on Feby 1808 and died Feby 16, 1880, at his home in this township. He emigrated to Indiana in 1819 and was married to Nancy Parks, Dec. 29th, 1830. He leaves 7 children and 23 grandchildren. He united with the Regular Baptist Church in 1837-38 and remained a consistent member to the time of his death. His disease was consumption which was caused by a fall from a wagon a few years ago. He was one of the pioneers of this county, a man with many noble traits of character, many friends and few enemies. May he rest in peace. ===== Other Sources: 1.)
