Oneita Leak is the daughter of Dr. E. E. Leak, living in San Augustine in 1918. Oneita married Williams Jenkins, and the couple lived in Daingerfield, Texas, until about August 1918, when they moved to Beaumont, "where Mr. Jenkins was employed in the shipyards. On account of a slight accident he was laying off and they went to DeRidder, La., to visit relatives and she was stricken with pneumonia and was ill only a few days." Her husband and father accompanied her remains to Center, as did Mr. and Mrs. R. N. Stripling. "The remains were carried directly to the cemetery where the funeral services were held. Rev. F. L. Hall conducting the services. Father of Mr. Jenkins, Mr. Hoyt Jenkins, Jack Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Music of Daingerfield came to attend the funeral but arrived shortly after the services."
