Bio

August Rudolph MOTLOCH Sr. August 18, 1918 -February 5, 2014 August R. Motloch, Sr. was born to Frank and Anna Zrubek Motloch in El Campo, Texas. He grew up in Granger, Texas and lived in San Antonio for a few years after his marriage to Annie Vrana in 1941. The family then moved to Austin where August, Sr. would spend the remainder of his life. He was an accomplished auto mechanic, welder, and machine operator. He worked for Camp Mabry, Austin, Texas as a welder during World War II. He retired from Pool and Rogers Paving Company in 1980. August, Sr. is preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 51 years, Annie, his brother, Richard Motloch, sister Clementine Motloch, and son, James E. Motloch, Sr. He is survived by his brother, Ernest Motloch (Mary), sister, Elsie McDaniel, daughter, Frances Jean Stojanik (Robert), sons, August, Jr. (Rebecca), Henry (Cyndi), Raymond (Margery), fourteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. August, Sr. was a charter member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Austin, a member of KJT Society 112, Austin, and the Knights of Columbus Council 8141, Austin. August, Sr. celebrated life to the fullest. He was always ready to extend a helping hand, never turning anyone away. He was a man for others, a humble servant. He loved hunting, fishing, Czech music, playing Tarocks, dominoes, and celebrations with family and friends. Visitation will occur at Austin-Peel and Son Funeral Home, 607 E. Anderson Ln., Austin, TX from 5 pm - 7pm on Sunday, February 9th. The recitation of the rosary will occur at 6 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 2 pm on Monday, February 10th at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, Granger, TX. Interment will be at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Granger. Published in Austin American-Statesman from Feb. 9 to Feb. 10, 2014.
