She went to Savage School where she loved to play sports. She was confirmed in the Lutheran Church and then saved and baptized in the Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and from the time she was a child she studied the Word of God in depth. She was a fierce prayer warrior pleading the blood of Jesus over her loved ones always. She left the family many handwritten notes and letters pouring out her heart and praying over them. She met Harry Lee in Frost, Texas at a party in 1944. She picked him out of all the guys to go walking with her. She then told the other girls that Harry Lee was hers. They were married on December 22, 1944. They loved to go square dancing together. Florene wrote, "I always found rest in those big arms that held me tight." Florene was a homemaker for most of her life, but she did work at the Hat Factory and Collin Street Bakery. But her favorite job was being a mother and she always called her babies "my beautiful children" when she was addressing them in her writing. They brought her great blessings. Florene loved Christmas with her family, and she always worked all month getting ready for her family party that was full of food, games, songs, reading the Christmas story and lots of laughter. She loved to go on vacations and adventures with her family members, but especially loved her trips to Branson with Harry Lee. She is now on her greatest adventure of all, the one she longed for, exploring the heavens. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Michael Goode, Marty Goode, J.D. Stubbs, Weston Grounds, Walker Grounds, Lee Grounds, Noah Grounds, Hayden Grounds and Holden Grounds.
