Jimmy Waynfild Childress, 76, of Hemphill, Texas passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2022 in Sabine County Hospital in Hemphill, Texas. Jimmy was born September 30, 1946 in Texon, Texas to Clinton Haskell Childress and Vlasta Rose Jurcik Childress. He served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corp serving in Vietnam. After serving in the military, he worked for many years in the oil and gas industry as a drilling operations manager. He resided in Ft. Stockton, Texas before moving to the Toledo Bend lake area 20 years ago. He was a member of East Mayfield Baptist Church and also a member and Past Master of Littleton Fowler Masonic Lodge #305. His sense of duty was a big part of his life. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judy Ann Childress of Hemphill, is sons, Jimmy Dee Childress and wife, Rositsa, of Willis, Texas and William Scott Childress and wife, Christa, of Huntsville;, Texas, hisdaughter, Larinda Mae Swenson and husband, Dwayne, of Clifton, Texas, his sister, Jackie Childress of Teague, Texas, five granddaughters and two grandsons. Services are pending at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas. Memories and condolences may be shared at starrfuneralhome.com.
