Bio
Daryle Lee Furby, 75, of Fullerton, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022, at his home with his loving family by his side. At this time, services are pending. Daryle was born August 17, 1947 in Fullerton, Nebraska to Walter and Lucille (Boardman) Furby. He grew up in Belgrade, Nebraska and graduated from Belgrade High School in 1965. While in high school, Daryle played basketball. He was a very talented baseball player and played baseball for the town of Fullerton summer league for many years. After graduating high school, Daryle worked at Dale Electronics in Columbus and the Ordinance plant in Grand Island. In 1966, Daryle was drafted by the U.S. Army, where he proudly served from 1966-1968. During this time, he was stationed in Korea from 1967-1968. Daryle was also an active member in the Nebraska National Guard. On June 5, 1966, Daryle married his high school sweetheart, Janet Houtby. To this blessed union, they had four children. After his military service, he attended Kearney State College in Kearney, Nebraska. He then went to work at Atlantic Homes in Central City and he worked for Champion Home Builders in Berthoud, Colorado for 35 years. Daryle and Jan lived in Loveland, CO for 31 years before retiring back to Fullerton in 2009. During his retirement, he worked as a grounds crew member at the Pawnee Hills Golf Course. He was an active member with the VFW, American Legion, and served on the board of the Nance County Veterans Memorial and Military Resource Center. Daryle is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Janet; daughters, Jacque (Ray) Arispe of Blair, NE, Shelli (Jerry) Gibbens of Loveland, CO, and Tara (Shawn) Dillon of Warren, OH; son, Devin (Allison) Furby of Gering NE; grandchildren, Chris and Zach Arispe of Omaha, NE, Trent (Kay) Arispe of Blair, NE, Alec (Megan) Suarez of Buckeye, AZ, Jace Suarez of Omaha, NE, Avary and Caleigh Dillon of Warren, OH, and Katie and Kyler Furby of Gering, NE; step-grandsons, Jackson Gibbens of Fort Collins, CO and Clayton Gibbens of Tempe, AZ; one great-grandson, Daryle Daniel Arispe of Blair, NE; sisters, Nadine Imus and Ava (Bruce) Wild; brother and best friend, Randy (Linda) Furby; Sisters-in-law, Judy (Bill) Johnston and Gayle (Jack) Leathers; brother in-law, Chuck (Kathy) Houtby; as well as numerous nieces and nephews that he loved very much. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lucille Furby; brother, Eugene; brother-in-law, Dwight Imus; and father and mother-in-law, Chet and Ava Houtby. Daryle fought a courageous and long battle with cancer. He is a true inspiration to those whose lives he touched, and we feel truly blessed to be his family.
