The Mountain Parker, Vol. 1, No. 2; Thursday, Dec. 26, 1935 Final Rites for Mrs. Britton 70-year-old Mountain Park Pioneer Resident Dies December 17 Ora Ellis White was born in Clay county, Alabama, November 1, 1865 and departed this life at her home in Mountain Park, December 17, 1935 at the age of 70 years, 1 month and 16 days. She was married to Mr. W.R. Britton August 5, 1905. In 1907 she movedwith her family to Mountain Park and has resided here ever since. She united with the Methodist church when a girl of 15 and was an active worker in the church throughout her lifetime. She was a Sunday School teacher in the Methodist church in Mountain Park until her duties of her home required her giving up much of her church work. She was always ready to help others in time of sickness, the weather never got too disagreeable for her to go where she could be of service. She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, W.R. Britton, three children, Mrs. Pearl Bowman of Ames, Okla., Mrs. Lorine Harrison of Auburn, Wash., and Dr. Bloyce Britton of El Paso, Texas, the daughter Mrs. Zeffie Treadwell, having preceeded her in death, also 11 brothers and sisters. Her brother T.H. White of Oklahoma City, and sisters, Mrs.A.A. Glass of Norman, Okla., and Mrs. W.L. Weaver and Miss Dora White of Mountain Park were present at the funeral services.
