He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Ord High School in 1955. On July 15, 1961, Leonard married Charlotte Lytle. To this union four children were born. Leonard purchased the family farm from his father in 1963. He raised his family, crops and cattle all on this farm. When Leonard retired he was proud to keep the farm in the family by selling it to his son, Dean. Leonard enjoyed living out his retirement years on the farm with his son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Nicole. Leonard was a quiet shy man who liked playing jokes and kidding around with close friends and family. This brought an ornery smile to his face. He enjoyed playing the slot machines and Keno. He was proud of his kids and always made sure to call and wish them a Happy Birthday. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Dave and Lisa Lech and Dean and Nicole Lech; two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Bob Turek and Kayla and Mike Miller; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Marvin and Nancy Lech and Rolland and Eileen Lech. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Roman and Everett Lech and two sisters, Lillian Maciejewski and Sylvia Roberts.
