Patty A. Jensen, 84, of Aurora, passed away Friday, Nov. 4, 2022, at Memorial Community Care. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, at the Aurora United Methodist Church. The Rev. Michelle Reed will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Aurora United Methodist Church, 1104 A St.. Patty Ann Jensen, the daughter of George and Fern (Giersdorf) Pontious, was born in Lorreto, Nebraska, on July 23, 1938, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on Nov. 4, 2022, at the age of 84. She grew up in the Grand Island area, where she attended school. Patty worked for a short time as a beautician. On Nov. 18, 1956, she was united in marriage to Gary L. Jensen at the United Methodist Church in Grand Island. They had four children: Jeff, Chris, Vanessa and Casey. Gary began farming with Patty working by his side. After the children were older Patty worked at Coast to Coast and Memorial Hospital before retiring. Gary passed away on Sept. 7, 2018. Patty was a member of the VWW Extension Club. She enjoyed gardening, being outside, raising her cats and crocheting. Patty loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gary Jensen; a grandson, Tyler Green; and three siblings, Norma Marco, Don Pontious and George Pontious Jr. Those left to cherish her memory are her four children, Jeff (Deb) Jensen of Phillips, Chris (Donna) Jensen of Grand Island, Vanessa (Jim) Green of Marquette and Casey (Julie) Jensen of Aurora; six grandchildren, Shannon (Tony) Faz of Kearney, Layce (Jamie) Dux of Crete, Bo Jensen of Atkinson, Michaela Jensen of Atkinson, Emily Green of Marquette and Kaylee Jensen of Aurora; three step-grandchildren, Liz (Chad) Gonka of Columbus, Adam (Nikki) Tejral of Tea, South Dakota and Andrew (Ashley) Tejral of Phillips; three great-grandchildren, AJ and Carsten Faz, both of Kearney, and Weston Dux of Crete; four step great-grandchildren, Mason, Sidney and Avery Gonka of Columbus and Jensen and Marley Tejral of Phillips; special friend Terri Jensen; and many other family members and friends.
