Thomas came to Utah as a pioneer from England in 1862 with his mother, brother Hyrum, age 10, brother Joseph, age 9, and sister Elizabeth Ann, age 14 months in 1862. He was 6 years old. They sailed on the ship, "John J. Boyd", leaving Liverpool 23 April 1862 and arriving in New York Harbor 1 June 1862. They took the train to Florence, Nebraska and saw the soldiers in uniform for the Civil War. They walked across the plains and mountains in 1862. His younger sister, Elizabeth, died by the Missouri River. Their Uncle James Healey preceded them to Utah and met them and took them to Alpine, Utah. His father, John Healey, stayed in England to earn enough money to come the next year, and came to Utah as a pioneer in 1863 with his younger brother, Nephi, age 4. Thomas was a truck driver and died of pneumonia. He married Louisa Brown 8 Dec 1880 in St. George; Div. He married Zella Hemingway 4 May 1898 in Logan.
