Bio

Duard 'Dewey' Wilbert Moore, age 93, of Lincoln, Nebraska, formerly of Stromsburg, passed away October 12, 2022 at Gateway Vista in Lincoln. Duard was born June 27, 1929, one of eight children, to Olive Piper and Nettie Novella (Andrew) Moore in Ulysses, Nebraska. He attended school in Ulysses graduating in 1946. Following high school he attended Northwestern Bible College in Minneapolis, Minnesota and then attended Midwest Bible and Missionary Institute in St. Louis, Missouri for two years. On December 19, 1949 he was united in marriage to Loretta Roseline Novak in Washington, Kansas. Two children joined this union. The family resided in various places including Ulysses, Nebraska; Minneapolis, Minnesota; St Louis, Missouri; Columbus, Nebraska; Casper, Wyoming and in 1976 they moved to Stromsburg, Nebraska. Duard attended the Stromsburg Baptist Church for many years. Over the years he worked as a carpenter for Moore Construction, an electrician for Huges Brothers in Seward, Cornhusker Public Power District in Columbus, a truck driver for MNX out of St Joseph, Missouri, and at Molex Manufacturing in Lincoln. Throughout his life he would return to carpentry work. While living in Columbus he volunteered with the Boy Scouts and when living in St. Louis provided ministry in area prisons. In 2014 he moved to Lincoln to be closer to his daughter. He was a member of the NRA. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, sightseeing, woodworking, studying the Bible and sharing the Word of God. He also enjoyed a good practical joke. He was preceded in death by his wife Loretta who passed away November 15, 2006; his parents; brothers Terrance (Catherine) Andrew, Dwayne (Aloha) Moore, and Anson Moore; sisters Thelma (Earl) Johnson, Ardythe (first husband Lester Marsden and second husband Verland Gronlund), and Gwendolyn (Ted) Grigsby; brother-in-law Dale Sieck. Interment will be in the Stromsburg Cemetery.
