Married 3 times. She married Vernon Wm. Thompson on March 31, 1999. He survives her, so I cannot link him. Ardythe Maxine (Marsden) Gronlund, age 82 of Stromsburg passed away June 20, 2014 at the Midwest Covenant Home in Stromsburg. Funeral services were held Tuesday June 24, 2014 at Salem Lutheran Church in Stromsburg. Interment will be in the Stromsburg Cemetery. Dubas Funeral Home of Stromsburg and Osceola has been entrusted with arrangements. Ardythe was born September 20, 1931 to Oliver Piper and Nettie Novella (Andrew) Moore. She attended school in Ulysses. She worked as a telephone operator in her early years and was a stay-at-home mother as her children were growing up. She returned to work at Jack & Jill and Wheelers and also worked for the Polk County Sheriff's Office for many years. She retired after a back injury. On March 31, 1999 she was united in marriage to Vernon William Thompson at St. Paul, Nebraska. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Stromsburg. She taught Sunday school at both Salem Lutheran and also the United Methodist church in Stromsburg. She enjoyed traveling and camping. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Lester L. Marsden who passed away July 8, 1958 and Verlin G. Gronlund who passed away November 15, 1991, grandson Trevor Marsden, son-in-law Lonnie Ackerman, three mothers-in-law and three fathers-in-law.
