Leonard "Lenny" Lee Tydlacka was born on July 1, 1946 in Sealy, Texas to Rudolph Joe and Mary Vitek Tydlacka. He grew up in Wharton, Texas but has lived in Katy for the last 52 years. On June 1, 1968, he married Patricia "Patsy" Frances Jasek at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Praha, Texas. Lenny served in the Army National Guard for six years. He was happiest outdoors, whether deer hunting, fishing, boating, or gardening. He was extremely talented and creative; he could built almost anything. Lenny enjoyed and made the best barbecue ribs, brisket, and chicken, as well as a good steak and baked potato. He also had a sweet tooth and loved German chocolate cake, Czech pastries, and almost any type of Blue Bell ice cream. Lenny was an active member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Community and the Knights of Columbus, where he reached the highest and honorable 4th degree and was knighted "Sir Knight." More than anything else, Lenny treasured the time spent with his family. He was a loyal, dependable, and trustworthy man. He worked hard to provide for his family and was always there for them. Leonard "Lenny" Lee Tydlacka passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2022 in The Woodlands. He is survived by his daughters, Christy Thompson and her husband Rodney of Lakeway, Texas, and Shauna Tydlacka of Katy, Texas; two granddaughters, Kendall Thompson and Mallory Thompson of Lakeway, Texas; four brothers, Raymond Tydlacka of Cleveland, OK, David Tydlacka and his wife Kimberly of Wharton, TX, Edward Tydlacka of Wharton, TX, and Steven Tydlacka of Wharton, TX; sisters, Elizabeth Prikryl and her husband Andrew of Rosenberg, TX, Charlene Svec and her husband Daniel of East Bernard, TX, Ann Almendarez and her husband Willie of Sealy, TX; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia "Patsy" Tydlacka in 2021; mother, Mary Tydlacka in 2021; father, Rudolph Tydlacka in 2003; brothers, Robert Tydlacka in 2021 and Rudolph Tydlacka, Jr. in 2010; as well as an infant son, Shannon Tydlacka; and an infant brother, Charles Tydlacka. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at the Schmidt Funeral Home Grand Parkway Chapel, in Katy, where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. with the Knights of Columbus, reciting. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Praha, Texas , with Rev. Gabriel Maison, Celebrant. Interment in St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery in Praha, Texas. Pallbearers will be David Tydlacka, Raymond Tydlacka, Edward Tydlacka, Steven Tydlacka, Brian Jasek, and Joey Jasek.
