Bio

Walter Korth Jr. went to be with our Heavenly Father on Sunday, September 18, 2022. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 26, 2022, at Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church, with Pastor Ken Weiss officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lee Cemetery. The Family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Walter Korth Jr. was born on April 7, 1931, in Brenham, Texas, to Walter Korth Sr. and Cora Stegmann Korth. He was baptized on June 14, 1931, and confirmed on September 24, 1944, at Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church in Brenham. Walter proudly served in the Army from 1952-1954. He fought in the Korean War and was a Corporal when he discharged. On October 1, 1955, he married Carolyn Williams, the love of his life, in Hobbs, New Mexico. The love story Walter and Carolyn shared will be cherished by our family forever, it brings peace to know they are together again. Walter worked in the Oil field industry for many years before moving back to Brenham and working as a Truck Driver for Sealy Mattress for 20-plus years. Walter was a wonderful Dad, Grandpa, and Popo. He was so proud of his family and loved them very much. He loved to be outside working in his shop, mowing, or checking on his cows. He took a lot of pride working on his family land with his sons, David and James. Walter was a man of Faith and lived his life as a faithful servant of the Lord. He loved his church and church family. They were a huge part of his life. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, David and Callie Korth and James and Sherry Korth, all of Brenham; sister, Cora Lee Naumann of Brenham; grandchildren, Jessica and Charles Grimes of Bryan, R.J. and Leigha Rychlik of Austin, and Phillip and Valerie Rychlik of Waco; great-grandchildren, Emilee Korth and Avery Grimes; sister-in-law, Martha Eeds of Livingston; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Carolyn Williams Korth; parents, Walter Korth Sr. and Cora Stegmann Korth; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth Lois Korth Adams and Hubert Paul "H.P." Adams; brother, Howard Korth; and brother-in-law, J. F. Naumann. Serving as pallbearers are: Charles Grimes, R. J. Rychlik, Phillip Rychlik, David Thompson, Tom Brown, and Henry Jankowiak.
