Bio
Viola David, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother died Tuesday, March 20, 2001 at 8:00 AM at Johns Community Hospital in Taylor, Texas. She was born on February 17, 1920 to Charles "Karl" and Karoline (Mokry) Strmiska. She left behind her husband, Victor David, Sr. of 63 years. They were married November 23, 1938 at SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Granger, Texas. Surviving children are, Pauline Kovar and husband, Donald of Taylor, Carol Richter and husband, Warren of Pflugerville, Victor David, Jr. and wife, Debbie of Taylor, Clarence David and wife, Cathy and Rita Marburger, all of Granger. Also surviving are eighteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two brothers, Gilbert Strmiska and wife, Georgie and Fred Strmiska and wife, Josie, all of Granger and sister-in-law, Frances Strmiska of Thorndale. Viola was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Charles Strmiska. Rosary will be recited at 7 PM Thursday at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor. Funeral Mass will be 10 AM, Friday at SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Granger. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Granger. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SS. Cyril & Methodius Church Building & Maintenance Fund or the Catholic School, or the Religious Education Programs.
